Emphasis is on classroom management, personal space and teamwork. All Cobb elementary students participate in Nagata Dance and have multiple performance opportunities.

Our Playworks coach enhances and transforms recess and play into a positive experience that helps kids and teachers get the most out of every learning opportunity. Our rock-star coach strives to know every child by name, orchestrating play and physical activity through the five components of the Playworks program every day.

We are changing school culture by leveraging the power of safe, fun, and healthy play at school every day. We create a place for every kid on the playground to feel included, be active, and build valuable social and emotional skills. We offer an essential opportunity for children to explore their imaginations, to connect with other kids, and to stretch and grow physically, emotionally and socially.

Mentoring for Success

Mentoring for Success provides students with highly qualified and effective mentors who engage students in asset-building activities to build skills for school success, improved attendance, and high self esteem. Mentoring first focuses on relationships building to establish mutual trust, respect and friendship. Mentors offer students a pathway to expand their life perspectives, overcome obstacles and build on their strengths to make positive choices and develop essential school and life skills.

Visual and Performing Arts

Bringing the arts into the classroom and students to the arts in our powerfully creative and artistically diverse community, we seek to build and enhance 21st Century Skills and to encourage students, teachers and parents to view themselves as life-long-learners who are inspired by the arts and act as creative participants in our school communities.

Dedicated music and visual art teachers instruct all Cobb students once a week. Instrumental music is offered in fourth and fifth grade. Thanks to our spacious campus, Cobb students enjoy dedicated arts and music spaces.

Physical Education

High-quality, standards-based physical education instruction helps students learn not only the skills and knowledge to be physically fit and active, it also gives them the confidence and positive attitude necessary to participate in physical activities.
Mastering fundamental movements skills at an early age establishes a foundation that facilitates further motor skill acquisition and gives students increased capacity for a lifetime of successful and enjoyable physical activity experiences. All students receive 200 minutes of physical education every 10 days, in addition to recess.

Library and Technology

Students make weekly visits to our school library. Chromebooks and iPads are available for classroom use.
